PortalPrep Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using PortalPrep ("the App"), you agree to these terms.
1. What you're getting
PortalPrep is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use on devices you own or control. This is a license, not a sale of the software itself — Sobur Fagbenro retains ownership of the App.
2. Purchases
The App is offered through a one-time purchase that unlocks certain features permanently, tied to your Apple ID or Google account through the platform's own purchase system (the App itself has no accounts), for as long as the App remains installable and functional on a supported version of iOS or Android. This is not a guarantee that the App will be available forever, or that it will be maintained, updated, or compatible with future operating system versions indefinitely. If Sobur Fagbenro discontinues the App or it becomes unavailable through the App Store or Google Play, that does not by itself create a right to a refund from Sobur Fagbenro directly — see Section 6 on refunds, which explains who actually controls that decision.
3. What the App does and doesn't promise
The App helps resize, compress, and prepare files against preset specifications researched from official sources at the time of writing. Requirements set by governments, employers, and other third parties change without notice, and Sobur Fagbenro does not guarantee that any preset reflects the current requirement at the moment you use it. You are responsible for confirming the current requirement with the destination yourself before relying on the App's output for anything important.
The App's redaction feature identifies text that resembles common sensitive patterns (like Social Security numbers) and shows you what it found before removing anything. It is not a guarantee that all sensitive information in a document will be detected or removed. You are responsible for reviewing any redacted output before sharing it.
4. No warranty
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
5. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SOBUR FAGBENRO IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING A DOCUMENT OR PHOTO BEING REJECTED BY A THIRD PARTY, OR SENSITIVE INFORMATION NOT BEING FULLY REDACTED. SOBUR FAGBENRO'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR IT.
6. Refunds — read this section honestly, not just legally
Refund requests for purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play are handled by Apple or Google under their own refund policies, not by Sobur Fagbenro directly. Apple's and Google's policies each independently allow a refund in certain situations — including, under Apple's policy, when an app "stopped functioning or was no longer supported" — regardless of what this document says. Sobur Fagbenro cannot override the platform's own refund decision, and by distributing the App through these platforms, Sobur Fagbenro has agreed to reimburse the platform for refunds it grants. This section states the App's own position (no direct refund obligation from the developer beyond what's legally required), but it does not and cannot prevent Apple or Google from refunding a purchase on their own initiative.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to reverse-engineer, redistribute, or resell the App, or use it for any unlawful purpose, including preparing fraudulent documents.
8. Termination
Sobur Fagbenro may discontinue the App at any time. Sections 3 through 6 survive termination or discontinuation of the App.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If you reside in a jurisdiction that grants you rights this section cannot legally waive, those rights apply notwithstanding this section.
